Dear Bride & Groom,
If you're reading this, you've probably watched the galleries, looked at the recent weddings, and now you would like to know a bit more about the person behind the lens.
This - for me at least! - is the akward bit of having a website. I would much rather prefer that my work speak for me.
Having said that, here's a teensie bit of background! I've been taking photos since I can remember. It all started with those old point and shoot cameras, then progressed to an ex-boyfriend's father's Nikon, all the way through to today's high tech digital cameras. All I've ever wanted to do was create beautiful imagery.
It is so gratifying, so amazing when you see a great photo for the first time. I normally take a step back, call over my hubby and shout something along the lines of 'Did I really take that!? This is so cool!!!' And at this point he would normally mumble something about 'when are you going to realise, your photos are always great?' Ah, the enduring power of love... (or maybe it's his love of a good cooked meal and clean laundry talking!) I'd take a horrible photo, and he'd still say it's good.
Anyway, my domestic idiosyncrasies aside, the bottom line for me is a good photo. And not just a good photo, but one that conjures emotion, or tells a story. Afterall, that's what we photographers are supposed to do. We are hired to tell the story of your day. We are entrusted with your memories and we are not allowed to mess with that. Ever.
So, if you like what you've seen, let me know. Let's meet and chat!
Till later,
Brenda
